PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Clear EVA Film for Outdoor Laminated Glass

HJ-WA is E&N HONJIA's clear EVA interlayer for outdoor laminated glass applications.

It is the higher-flow option in our HJ-WA / HJ-WH outdoor EVA series. During lamination, HJ-WA provides more flow and penetration than HJ-WH, making it suitable for glass processors who prefer easier wet-out during the lamination process.

The film is mainly used for architectural and outdoor safety glass where transparency, glass adhesion, resistance to moisture and long-term outdoor appearance are important.

HJ-WA is supplied in 0.38 mm and 0.76 mm standard thicknesses. Standard width is up to 2500 mm, with other dimensions available according to production requirements.

PRODUCT STRUCTURE

How HJ-WA Works in Laminated Glass

A typical laminated glass structure using HJ-WA is:

During lamination, the EVA film is placed between the glass sheets and processed under heat and vacuum. The film flows between the glass surfaces and crosslinks during the cycle, forming the bonding layer of the finished laminated glass.

Glass

Provides the main structural surface and determines the basic thickness, shape and appearance of the finished panel.

HJ-WA EVA Interlayer

Bonds the glass layers together and contributes to the optical appearance, moisture resistance and fragment retention of the laminated glass.

Finished Laminated Glass

After the lamination cycle is completed, the glass and EVA interlayer form one laminated structure ready for the intended application.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Why Glass Processors Use HJ-WA

Clear Finished Appearance

HJ-WA has visible light transmittance above 90% and haze below 0.3%. It is intended for laminated glass where a clear finished appearance is required.

Higher Flow During Lamination

HJ-WA is the higher-flow grade in the HJ-WA / HJ-WH series. It is normally selected when more EVA flow and penetration are preferred during processing.

For applications where tighter flow control and less edge overflow are required, HJ-WH is the more suitable option.

UV Protection

The film blocks at least 99% of UV radiation in the 280–380 nm range. This helps reduce the effect of long-term UV exposure on the laminated structure and its appearance.

Strong Bonding to Glass

HJ-WA has a measured glass adhesion value above 80 N/cm under the specified test conditions.

Good bonding is important for maintaining a stable laminated structure during handling and use.

Resistance to Heat and Humidity

HJ-WA has been evaluated using boiling-water and damp-heat testing, including 100°C boiling water for 4 hours and 85°C / 85% relative humidity exposure.

These tests are used to check the stability of the film under demanding moisture and temperature conditions.

Flexible Mechanical Properties

With tensile strength above 15 MPa and elongation at break of at least 700%, HJ-WA combines strength with flexibility before and after processing.

Practical Roll Sizes

The standard specifications are designed around common laminated-glass production requirements:

0.38 mm × 2500 mm × 100 m

0.76 mm × 2500 mm × 50 m

If another width or roll format is needed, please send us the required glass size and production details for confirmation.

HJ-WA OR HJ-WH?

How to Choose Between the Two Outdoor Clear EVA Grades

HJ-WA and HJ-WH have similar optical and outdoor performance targets. The main difference is their flow behaviour during lamination.

  HJ-WA HJ-WH
EVA Type Clear outdoor EVA Clear outdoor EVA
Flow Higher flow Low flow
Light Transmittance >90% >90%
Haze <0.3% <0.3%
Standard Thickness 0.38 / 0.76 mm 0.38 / 0.76 mm
Main Processing Characteristic More flow and penetration Better flow control
Better Suited For Processing where higher EVA flow is preferred Processing where reduced edge flow is preferred

Choose HJ-WA when:

More EVA flow during lamination is useful for your glass structure or production method.

Choose HJ-WH when:

You need tighter control of the film during lamination or want to reduce excessive EVA flow around the glass edges.

If you are not sure which grade to use, send us your glass structure, panel size and current lamination process. We can compare HJ-WA and HJ-WH for your application.

WHY E&N HONJIA

More Than Supplying a Roll of EVA Film

Different laminated-glass factories use different glass structures, furnaces, vacuum systems and production settings. For this reason, choosing the correct EVA grade is often more important than simply comparing one specification table with another.

E&N HONJIA supplies different EVA grades for indoor, outdoor, clear, ultra-clear and different flow requirements.

For customers testing a new product, we can discuss the glass structure and application before the order, help select the suitable EVA grade and provide samples for evaluation.

Custom dimensions, trial orders and regular production orders can all be discussed according to the actual project requirement.

Our aim is simple: provide the film that matches the customer's lamination process, rather than asking the customer to adapt every project to one EVA grade.
